Addressing several meetings Naidu reiterated his support to the land losers, he said they had been defrauded of their land and he would help the farmers get them back. Under the VANPIC project, the government had acquired about 29,000 acres of land for constructing a coastal corridor between Nizampatnam and Nadarevu and promoting industries. The project contractors allegedly coerced the land owners and obtained their land and committed fraud in paying compensation. Farmers are demanding cancellation of the project and return of their lands.
